Some more little tidbits for you..
Did you know that
- Australia was once called New Holland
- Lonely Planet is based in Melbourne Australia
- Australia use to have stamps that actually look like gems
- It was an Australian meteorologist who first began to give tropical storms women's names at the end of the 19th century
- In Australia a banana bender means that a person comes from Queensland
(I put that last one in especially for all your QLD folk!)
Am re-evaluating some of the daily features and hope to have a survey online soon. If you have any ideas/requests/suggestions please let me know either in the comments or at thebloggingaussie{at}gmail{dot}com

Morning everyone, hope you have a happy and restful Sunday. Banana Benders, yes I had forgotten that term. Does anyone know what it means exactly?
Hi, have not bent any bananas today, but did buy some.
I have no idea what that term means Lilly: no more than I know that the West Aussies are Sandgropers, the South Aussies (all hail!!) are Croweaters, and .... hmmm...used to know 'em all! Does anyone know the rest?
